In the past three years of the covid epidemic  we've experienced other people mainly on a screen or

from a distance. The work done during this time explores the isolation and socially distanced interactions of that time. "Separations" is the title the larger work (below) which was one of the first to consider this theme. I had also been working on laser cutting drawn lines into woodblocks which resembled a screen when printed superimposed. This image became relevant to exploration of the metaphor of the screen - both a barrier to the warmth of human  interaction and a visual device which worked well with stencils to create movement and figurative anonymity.
